In order to get through daily duties, and for the achievement of both small and large goals, you have to have some self-confidence.
Developing self-confidence allows you to wade through the constant different voices and opinions telling you, "yes, no, maybe, do this, do that", etc. This develops an attitude which relies on other people to guide you, however always following their opinions robs you of individuality, which can make you unsure of yourself and can lead to poor mental health.
Our aim is for each student to develop their confidence and leadership skills. Unlike other schools that wait until black belt level is reached, we believe that these skills should be built in synchronization with the other skills taught in Tae Kwon Do.

When someone lacks self-respect they often engage in abusive, self-destructive behaviors due to feeling they have little value and are unworthy.
In order to become a holistic Martial Artist, we must have respect for friends, family, strangers, property and for ourselves.
Discipline means training of the mind and character. It is being respectful to rules and others and having the self-confidence to admit when you have done wrong.
Contrary to common belief, self-discipline does not mean being harsh toward yourself, or living a limited, restrictive lifestyle. Self-discipline is the development and practice of self-control and inner strength.
Self-discipline gives you the power to stick to your decisions and follow them through, without changing your mind, and is therefore, one of the important requirements for achieving goals. It also develops as inner strength, helping you to overcome addictions, procrastination and laziness, and to follow through with whatever you do.
Discipline is an important part of traditional Martial Arts as it is a way of learning self-control and demonstrating respect.
